IND vs PAK Match 12 14 OCT 23 ICC World Cup 23
Welcome to WSP MatchCentre
Pakistan are 60/1 in 11 overs. More wickets to come soon.
In Abdullah Shafique, Pakistan had their backbone. With Babar out of touch and Rizwan with a shaky start, things don't look good for them at the moment. Yes, one can rely on Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed. They do well under pressure. Somehow feel, these batter are not watching the ball carefully. They are going ahead with pre-conceived shots. Very dangerous. Pressure does all that.
Ravindra Jadeja is a key bowler here. Shardul too should create some magic. The nature of the pitch definitely allows runs. A couple of wickets round the corner.
Indian bowlers staying middle-leg. What's that strategy? Asian batters hardly ever get out in that zone. Now, that ball was hitting Babar's leg stump, but Erasmus had other ideas. Umpire's not out call retained. Is ICC looking into such situations that can change a game completely?
'Pakistan at 129/2 in 26 overs haven't done well enough for a massive score. The pressure of scoring is only going to increase from now on. India may not have dented their opponents, but have contained well. It is a heavy legside field at the moment. We may not agree with Rohit Sharma's strategy, but that's how it is. He is happy allowing singles and those odd boundaries on this pitch.
Wickets fell and kept falling like nobody's business. Pakistan played some very silly shots. Indian bowlers, particularly Siraj and Bumrah adjusted to the pitch and the rest was visible. 191 was no score for such an encounter. The return of Rohit Sharma was impressive. That's the way we know him. India won by 7 wickets. What else is comfort, if not this. We said in our first update itself that Pakistan are going to lose more and more wickets. They didn't disappoint us. Then they were 60 for the loss of just 1 wicket. That's what we do. Predict the game correctly. See you soon for some other prominent game, some other time with WSP MatchCentre updates. Till then, bbye.
